Calls may be recorded or transcribed for booking accuracy, quality, and dispute resolution.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full credit card numbers on our website. We may keep limited payment records, such as the amount paid, date, and payment method, for accounting and tax purposes.

Business and agency accounts

For agencies, airlines, hotels, and other business partners, we collect contact names, business contact details, billing information, and passenger or crew details needed to provide and invoice the service.

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring website. See Cookies and Website Data.

2. How We Use Information

  • To take, confirm, schedule, and complete your bookings, including dispatching a driver.

  • To contact you about your trip, such as confirmations, driver arrival, delays, and changes.
  • To process payments, issue receipts, and invoice business accounts.
  • To operate the Park & Fly lot and deliver any add-on services you request.
  • To handle lost items, complaints, and customer support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

By booking a ride, using Park & Fly, calling our booking line, or submitting a form on our website, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide some services.

If you book on behalf of another person (for example a passenger, guest, or crew member), you confirm that you have their permission to share their information with us for the booking.

4. How We Share Information

We only share personal information when it is needed to provide our services or when required by law:

  • Drivers: the driver assigned to your trip receives the details needed to complete it, such as your name, pickup and drop-off locations, and trip notes.
  • Service providers: companies that help us run our business, including website hosting, dispatch and booking software, email services, mapping and address services (such as Google Maps), phone and virtual assistant services, and payment processors. They may only use the information to provide services to us.
  • Business partners: when an agency, airline, hotel, or other organization books or pays for a trip, we may share trip, billing, and invoice details with that organization.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, court order, or government authority, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of our passengers, drivers, the public, or 48Taxi.
  • Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, personal information may be transferred to the new owner under the same protections.

5. Driver Privacy & Third-Party Communications

For Agencies & Business Partners

For the privacy and safety of our drivers, 48Taxi does not provide drivers' personal phone numbers, addresses, or other private contact information directly to passengers, third-party agencies, or organizations.

If you need to contact a driver regarding a booking, passenger, pickup, payment, lost item, or any other matter, please contact 48Taxi Dispatch directly. Our dispatch team will communicate with the appropriate driver and coordinate the matter on your behalf.

This allows us to protect driver privacy while still giving agencies and business partners a reliable point of contact.

Any driver contact information obtained during a trip may only be used for that trip and may not be kept or used to reach the driver outside 48Taxi's official channels.

6. Park & Fly Lot and Security Cameras

Our Park & Fly parking lot is monitored by security cameras to protect vehicles and property. Camera footage may capture images of people and vehicles in and around the lot. Footage is used only for security, safety, and investigating incidents, and may be shared with police or insurers when needed. Footage is kept for a limited time and then deleted or overwritten unless it is needed for an investigation or claim.

7. Cookies and Website Data

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, secure our forms, and understand how visitors use the site. Our booking forms use Google Maps services for address lookup and distance calculation, and Google may collect information under its own privacy policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as booking forms, may not work properly without them.

8. Storage and Transfers Outside Canada

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Nova Scotia or outside Canada, including in the United States. When this happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities. We choose providers that use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, tax, accounting, and insurance requirements. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

10. Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, restricted access to booking and dispatch systems, spam protection on forms, and system monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual limits.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your information.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

12. Children

Our website and booking services are intended for adults. Rides for minors should be booked by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through our website.
